The Story
A photographic portrait in headwrap and beads, encircled by Tonga baskets and carved masks — the salon as a quiet room of ancestral presence.
Cultural institutions, private libraries and reception rooms. High ceilings with painted timber beams, floor-to-ceiling light and sand-textured walls. The composition is radial: portrait at centre, baskets in orbital arrangement, masks as vertical counterpoints. ILE ONA savannah masks and sculptural busts extend the gallery logic onto side tables and carved consoles. Understated furniture lets the wall tell the story.
Design Direction
- Central black-and-white portrait as emotional anchor
- Orbital arrangement of woven Binga/Tonga baskets
- Carved mask accents interspersed for vertical rhythm
